Maturity Of Six Year Old Boy : Beyond Awesome
There is always a beautiful story about the relationship between a brother and sister, mother and daughter etc.. but here is the most heart touching story of a brother who will steal your heart and will make you realize that maturity doesn't come with age it just comes naturally. A 6-year-old boy was strolling through the market down with his little sister checking out the market. After much strolling the little girl saw a shop and stood there, suddenly the boy who was heading ahead saw that his little sister was not with him when he saw her lagging behind. He stopped and saw what's keeping her attention and there he saw a toy shop where his sister was watching it with great interest.
He saw the look of longing into her cute little eyes and asked her, “Do you want something?” The sister who was staring at the store told him by pointing at the doll. The boy looked over it and held her like a responsible brother and took her inside the shop and took the doll and gave it to her. The girl looked over her brother and smiled at him, she was very happy.
The shopkeeper who was watching all of this was very amused by the behavior of this 6-year-old boy and took a glance at his maturity. Now the boy who was very happy to see his sister happy he then came to the counter and asked the shopkeeper, “What is the cost of this doll, Sir? !” The shopkeeper who was watching this was a very good man and he knows the odds of life and living with it so seeing this beautiful relation of brother-sister love he asked the boy in a soft tone, “Well, What can you pay?”
After hearing the shopkeeper the boy searched for his pocket for any money but he didn't have so he searched the other pocket and there he had some seashells which he had collected from the seashore so he gave all his seashell to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper so this and looked at the shells with an amused look and then started counting the shells as if it is a currency. After counting he looked over to the boy, the boy got tensed and he asked him, “Is it less?” The shopkeeper saw his tense look and said, “No, No… These are more than the cost. So I will return the remaining.” Saying this he kept only 4 shells and returned all his shells, the boy looked very happy and went out with his little baby sister.
The Big Question
After the boy and his sister left the store the servant who was watching all of this came to his master and asked him, “Sir! You gave away such a costly doll just for 4 shells ???” The shopkeeper who was smiling looked over to his servant and replied, “Well, for us these are mere shells. But for that boy, these shells are very precious. And at this age, he does not understand what money is, but when he will grow up, he definitely will. And when he would remember that he purchased a doll with the Shells instead of Money, he will remember me and think that the world is full of Good people. It will help him develop a positive attitude and he too, in turn, will feel motivated to be Good.” So now you know that maturity just comes naturally like that boy who didn't have money but had the courage to buy something for his sister and the shopkeeper who was very kind but his generosity of making the small child believe that the world is not that cruel as there are many people who are willing to help others and that can help the child in not losing hope in doing goodwill to others who are in need.
